Ironman Gravity 4000 Inversion Table Review

inversiontable3The IronMan Gravity 4000 Inversion Table is a solid investment made from quality materials. With over 1800 reviews on Amazon alone, it has really been around the block. Most say the table is one of the best investments they’ve ever made. Are they right? Find out here.

When Ironman came out as a company, critics called it another fly-by-night company. They called the products bulky and difficult to use. Since then, they have shown solid progress as a business. Moreover, a large number of people have been able to experience their products first hand. The truth is simple. They make solid products, and they’re not going anywhere anytime soon.

The Ironman Gravity 4000 inversion table is one of their products. Ironman sets high standards for their products. Athletes don’t become famous because they’re in shape. Anyone can be in shape, yet not be an athlete. Athletes become famous because of what they strive for. People like watch others overcome mental and physical obstacles. The wonderful thing about being an athlete is you don’t have to be a spectator. You can participate in the action.

An inversion table does exactly what the name implies. After you strap yourself in, you invert yourself. As you rotate, you hang upside down by your feet. Why would someone want to do this? I’m glad you asked.

Your central nervous system resides in your spine. It is also home to your vertebrae, where some of the strongest bones in your body are. Connecting these vertebrae bones are discs. These are pads that keep your bones from rubbing against each other. Without these discs, our existence would be quite a painful one. We find relief when we go to bed, but that’s often not enough. When you use an inversion table, you are reversing the effects of gravity on your spine and offering some much-needed relief to your back.

IronMan Fitness

ironmanIronMan knows athletes. They know what they face in their quest to overcome the impossible. The beautiful thing about inversion tables is you don’t have to be an athlete to use one. In fact, you’re not running, jumping, or lifting weights. This is a relief tool offered to more than just triathlon athletes.

The first place any red-blooded American goes to when they want to find out more about a company is their About Us web page. This is the page that usually tells use more about the business and possibly the people behind it. I didn’t find that to be the case here. They have good products, but who are they?

Interestingly enough, I found a bit more information on their Contact page. I didn’t find a published address by them, but I did find a telephone number. It wasn’t toll-free; it had an area code. That pointed me to Pasadena, California. I still had trouble, so I looked at Paradigm Health and Wellness Inc.—while IronMan’s website only said they partnered with them, it appears they are owned by Paradigm. Another quick Google search and I found their address. Honestly, this should not have been this hard. It felt like they are hiding behind a corporate wall. They lose points for this. Not much, but I do feel it should have been easier for a company that sets such high standards for quality.

What to Expect/How It Works

The box came well-packed, with no damaged parts. It did take some assembly, but the instructions were clear and easy to understand. This is a heavy-duty table with the ability to support heights up to 6’8” with a sizable weight limit of 350 lbs. That puts them at the top of the list for heavier people because most other tables can’t handle that much.

I would not suggest moving this machine once it is set up. It is heavy, bulky, and while it does fold, it doesn’t fold easily. However, it looks to be of commercial grade or higher, and for the price, a mere $200, you’re getting quite a deal. As a big guy, my “normal wear and tear” on a product equates to someone else abusing it. I’m rough on my stuff. As a result, I require things that are of higher quality. Besides, I think you will agree. “I want something of inferior quality that will cost me a fortune,” said no one ever.

You will want to set it up in its final resting place. This baby is heavy, and once it’s put together, it will take more than one person to move it, unless you take it apart again, and who wants to do that? Raise your hand…no one? I thought so.

It’s a quality machine with vinyl covered foam. This one is unique because it has lumbar support. While it’s not the only one with lumbar support, it is one of the few—not all of them have it. Amazon’s product comparison says it goes to 6’6”, but the adjustments on the machine go up to 6’8”. Most people aren’t that tall, so it won’t be something to fret over.

What Others Have Said

Some people have complained about the foot rollers. See, when you use this machine, you will essentially be hanging upside down by your ankles. The mechanics of the machine need to hold onto your ankles for your own safety. While some people have complained about the discomfort they experienced, other have rebutted them. They warn you to wear shoes when you first start out. After a few weeks of using it every day, they find it quite comfortable to go barefoot without discomfort. Give it some time. The benefits of the machine need to be experienced to be understood.

What to Watch Out For

The machine is heavy. When you put it together, have a helping hand available, and put it together in the room where you plan on using it. It doesn’t fold quickly. It is not designed to be transported from room to room on a daily basis.

You will need some adjusting time for your feet. Wear comfortable shoes when you first start out with this table. When you start inverting, don’t overdo it.

Buying Advice

IronMan is everywhere. Both Amazon and WalMart sell it for a reasonable price. I recommend Amazon. It’s large, heavy and something you don’t want to carry in your vehicle alone. UPS drivers have the trucks and training to transport boxes of this size.

This is one of the best investments you can make. As far as inversion tables go, this table is at the perfect intersection of price and benefits—an excellent value. It’s not a $400 table. It’s half that price, plus it’s a heavy duty table. This table comes highly recommended. Get yours here.
